Village Theatre’s “AIDA,” the Tony Award-winning pop-rock musical by Elton John and Tim Rice, has a lot going for it.
As Aida, Amiea conveys a woman of royal blood with her elegant carriage, regal grace and air of self-confidence. Yet, she also displays the passionate nature and emotional fire of her character with her impulsive gestures and actions. Her voice is strong and richly nuanced, as she sings of her lost girlhood, her homeland and her tortured love for Radames.
Amiea embodies her high-spirited role fully and commands the stage with her presence and her powerful, heartfelt vocals.
